- First president Tatsusaku Tajima establishes Kaneichi Unsoten in Gunma, Japan

- Tatsusaku Tajima takes over the running of the struggling Sanrin Unsoten’s Tokyo branch, establishes business in Tokyo under the name Sanrin-sha
